Last week, I brought my son to his pediatrician, in Medical City in SM Fairview, because he experienced serious itchiness with unknown rashes. First I thought it was just a simple skin irritation but when his pediatrician checked him out, I was surprise because my son was infected with scabies. The doctor said it was caused by a very tiny, not visible to our naked eye, parasite that lay her eggs inside my son's skin and it was called mite sarcoptes scabiei. My son are very lucky to have a very good pediatrician and the infection was treated immediately. He was now recovering fast. For those people who did not know scabies, it is a contagious disease that can be transmitted through direct contact. If one member of your family is infected all of you should undergo the same treatment even though you don't have any symptoms. Your clothes should be wash immediately with hot water and let it dry under the sun. Same thing with your bed sheets, mattress and pillows, they should be cleaned thoroughly and if possible let them expose under the sun. Insecticide will also a great help in killing those parasites inside your house.
If your already infected, don't feel pathetic, it is not your fault why you have scabies. It does not mean that you are dirty or what. What matter is you know how to deal with.
